Greengate is the historic core of Salford. It is only five minutes stroll from the shopping heart of Manchester and yet it has been abandoned to decades of neglect due to its separation from the city centre. The Paloma scheme sits on land bounded by the River Irwell, Greengate and Manchester’s inner ring road.
The scheme comprises of 189 apartments, incorporating a mix of crash pads, one, two and three bed units, over ground floor commercial space and basement parking. The apartments’ façades have a multiple layering of materials based upon orientation (sunlight analysis), wind pressure (height), and function (balconies).
