The proposal is a refurbishment of a significant Bank and office tower into 29.500ft² of grade A office with retail units at ground floor to provide active frontages.
The design involved the retention of all the historic features, which were complimented by contemporary interventions that have created a new lease of life to a cherished local landmark.
A limited material palette of glass and Portland stone was adopted for all external excavations to endure a sensitive response to the existing structure. This approach has won much support from the Planners and the Civic Trust.
