Although unlisted, Unique Mill is a fine example of the solid Victorian textile mill buildings that are so prominent in the landscape of Manchester and Lancashire. The internal and external refurbishment provides start up business units, meeting facilities, cybercafe and a nursery for the Kashmir Youth Project, a prominent community group in the Hamer and Wardleworth area. Funding was sought from the European Concerto project to incorporate sustainable technologies into the completed building that will create an exemplar of best practice. The completed project is a significant landmark for regeneration of buildings and communities in Lancashire.
